Medical Device Testing Services

Testing Expertise Serving the Medical Industry

The medical device testing services offered by Empirical Technologies are designed to help companies develop the best products available on the market. Maintaining close relationships with the FDA helps us stay up to date with guidelines, changes, and expectations as they arise so that your devices can reach markets quickly.

What Is Medical Device Testing?

Medical device testing exhausts designs using custom stress tests to cater to each project’s needs. Empirical Technologies helps clients ensure that devices do what they’re designed to do, run safely and efficiently for regular use, and meet toxicity and chemical analysis specifications. We’ll talk with you and your team about your device and analyze it on our own so that we can apply risk analysis to determine what’s needed to get your FDA and CE clearances.

Services by Device Regulations

Empirical Technologies will help you meet and pass all the requirements of needed FDA/510(k), ASTM, and ISO regulations:
1. FDA/510(k)
FDA/510(K) testing aims to determine if new devices meet the sufficiently equivalent (SE) standards of other similar devices. Some sections can run fifty or more pages depending on the device’s purpose!
2. ASTM
ASTM sets quality standards for product manufacturers and makes their products available to product manufacturers, medical laboratories, and other concerned institutions who test them further to avoid bias or skewed data.
3. ISO
Lastly, ISO Certification ensures that new products meet global standards in terms of their environmental impacts, health and safety standards, energy management, food safety standards, and IT security standards. They also hold organizations responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and controlling processes not performed by them.

The Importance of Medical Device Testing

Without testing a device, selling the product is not legal. Faulty or incomplete testing results in regulatory agencies denying permissions. A medical device must undergo testing to ensure the product is reliable and will allow for the best overall patient outcome.
